Egypt on Sunday strongly condemned attacks carried out by Israeli settlers against Palestinian civilians in the occupied West Bank, which resulted in several deaths and injuries, describing the incidents as a dangerous escalation of violence targeting civilians.
In a statement released by the Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Cairo denounced the assaults “in the strongest terms,” saying they represent a grave escalation and a blatant violation of international law.
The statement affirmed that Israeli settlement activities in the occupied Palestinian territories, including East Jerusalem, are illegal and constitute a clear breach of international law.
Egypt also condemned the continued closure of the Al-Aqsa Mosque by Israeli authorities and the prevention of worshippers from accessing the site for several consecutive days. The ministry said such measures represent a clear violation of the historical and legal status quo governing holy sites in Jerusalem.
Cairo renewed its warning about the risks posed by these escalating policies and actions, cautioning that they could further undermine security and stability in the region.
Egypt has repeatedly called for an end to violence against civilians and urged respect for international law and the historical status of religious sites in Jerusalem.
