Egypt Denounces Israeli Escalation in Palestine

Egypt condemned on Tuesday the Israeli forces’ recent escalation of violence in the Palestinian territories.

"Egypt denounced the Israeli forces' shelling of Gaza, resulting in the deaths of 13 Palestinians, and injured 20, including children and women," Foreign Ministry said in a statement.

Israel had launched pre-dawn airstrikes targeting multiple homes and residential buildings in the besieged Gaza Strip.

Egypt also condemned the incursion of Israeli settlers into the Al-Aqsa Mosque in occupied Jerusalem under the protection of Israeli forces.

Moreover, the statement also criticized the continued invasions of Palestinian cities by Israeli forces, with the latest incident occurring in Nablus.

The statement has affirmed Egypt's complete rejection of such attacks, which are inconsistent with the rules of international law and the provisions of international legitimacy.

Egypt stated that such attacks violate international law and principles of international legitimacy, and undermine efforts to achieve security in the region.

"These attacks fuel the situation in a way that may get out of control in the occupied Palestinian territories and undermine efforts to achieve calm and reduce tension in the region within the framework of the agreements reached at the Sharm El-Sheikh and Aqaba meetings that aimed to create an enabling environment for the relaunching of the peace process.
