Egypt’s Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources firmly rejected reports claiming that fuel prices will rise starting Thursday، describing the claims as “false news and misleading rumors.”

In an official statement issued on Wednesday evening, the ministry confirmed that no decisions have been made to adjust petroleum product prices in the immediate term, contradicting widely circulated information on social media and other non-official platforms.

The ministry emphasized that the rumors are entirely baseless and warned that legal action will be pursued against any individuals or entities responsible for spreading such claims.

Officials stressed that these steps are necessary to preserve market stability and prevent confusion among citizens, particularly given the sensitivity surrounding fuel pricing in Egypt.

Fuel prices remain a critical issue in the country’s economic landscape, as any changes directly impact transportation costs, inflation, and the prices of essential goods.

The government reiterated that any official adjustments to fuel pricing are announced exclusively through authorized channels, urging the public to rely only on verified information sources.
