Egypt Faces Climate Change with Protection Projects Based on Nature

The phenomenon of climatic changes and rising sea levels represents a great challenge for a large number of countries in the world, especially in the coastal areas, which are characterized by low levels.

Those areas are risking drowning in the seawater so preserving coastal areas from the effects of current and future climate changes represented by sea level rise is a necessary issue to preserve the safety of citizens and existing investments in industrial, agricultural, and tourist areas located on the northern coasts of Egypt.

The Egyptian government plans to protect the delta region, in a manner that allows for achieving future economic and social development and preserving natural resources for future generations.

Egypt is implementing pioneering projects in Kafr El-Sheikh governorate by using environmentally friendly and low-cost techniques, in addition to the fact that its basic construction materials are from the surrounding environment if they depend mainly on reeds and sand. Vertical rows on them, where sand fenders are used to collect sand by the wind during storms.
