A shipment of medical supplies from Egypt arrived today at Asmara International Airport, offered as a gift to the Eritrean people in a gesture underscoring the close and strategic ties between the two nations.
The medical aid, formally handed over to the Eritrean Medicines and Food Administration, includes essential equipment in the fields of ophthalmology and dialysis treatment.
The supplies were provided through the Egyptian Agency of Partnership for Development (EAPD) as part of Cairo’s ongoing commitment to strengthening cooperation with Asmara. The initiative builds on the momentum of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi’s official visit to the Eritrean capital in October, which reaffirmed the depth of relations between Egypt and Eritrea.
Officials in both capitals emphasized that the delivery reflects not only humanitarian support but also a broader strategy to enhance bilateral cooperation in healthcare and other priority sectors.
