Egypt strongly denounced the Israeli attack during the funeral of Palestinian journalist Shireen Abu Aqleh on Friday, calling the action "unacceptable."
"These unacceptable and unjustified aggressions are a violation of the rights of the Palestinian people
and for the sanctity of the dead," Egypt's Foreign Minister said in a statement.
"Such attacks also increase tension and instability in the occupied Palestinian territories, which negatively affects all efforts aimed at restoring peace in the region."
Israeli forces clashed with the people at the funeral, kicking and hitting people with batons and causing mourners carrying her coffin to lose balance and drop it to the ground.

Mourners raised the Palestinian flags – which are rarely seen – as thousands of people joined Abu Akleh’s funeral procession on Friday. They sang the Palestinian national anthem and chanted “Palestine! Palestine!”.
The journalist was killed on Wednesday while covering Israeli army raids in the city of Jenin in the northern occupied West Bank. She was rushed to a hospital in Jenin in critical condition, where she was declared dead shortly after.
