Egypt Condemns Terrorist Attack in Kabul

On Thursday, Egypt condemned a terrorist attack outside the Afghan Foreign Ministry that killed five people and wounded several others.

In a statement issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Egypt expressed its sincere condolences to the families of the victims of the attack, wishing a speedy recovery for the injured.

Egypt also stressed its condemnation and rejection of all forms of violence, extremism, and terrorism.

On Wednesday, a suicide bomber killed at least five people outside the Foreign Ministry. 

"Five civilians were martyred and a number of others were injured,” Kabul police spokesman Khalid Zadran tweeted on Wednesday.

 Zadran added that the perpetrators would be found and punished.

The explosion occurred in Kabul’s diplomatic district, Zanbaq Square, around 4 p.m. local time, Zadran said. 

 ISIS claimed responsibility for the attack which was the second major attack in Kabul in 2023.
