Egypt's government has strongly condemned Israel’s recent seizure of the buffer zone with Syria and nearby command sites.
In a statement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Egypt described the move as an occupation of Syrian land and a blatant violation of Syria's sovereignty. The act also breaches the 1974 Disengagement Agreement between Israel and Syria.
Egypt asserted that Israel's actions defy international law and threaten Syria's territorial integrity. The statement accused Israel of exploiting Syria's current instability to expand its territorial control and impose new facts on the ground, further contravening international legal standards.
The Egyptian government called on the United Nations Security Council and the broader international community to take decisive measures against Israel’s aggression. This appeal aims to restore Syria’s full sovereignty and prevent further escalation in the region.
Reaffirming its commitment to Syria's territorial unity, Egypt emphasized the importance of international cooperation to maintain regional stability and uphold the principles of international law.
