Egypt Condemns Erbil's Rocket Attack

On Tuesday, Egypt condemned the latest rocket-attack on Erbil which caused a number of causalities last night.

Through an official statement issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affair, Egypt expressed its deep condolences to Iraq`s government and people and the victim's family.

Moreover, the state asserted its support to Iraq and its efforts to counter terrorism and enhancing security.

Early this morning, Kurdistan region President Nechirvan Barzani called the United Nations and its Security Council and to deal seriously with the consequences of the latest Erbil rocket attack.

Barzani condemned the latest attack on Erbil, expressing his deep condolences to the victim's family.

Moreover, Barzani demanded the Commander-in-Chief of the Iraqi Armed Forces and the International Coalition forces in Iraq to coordinate with Kurdistan's leadership, including Asayish and Peshmerga security forces.

On the other hand, Iraqi Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kadhimi directing founding a mutual investigation committee with the Kurdish side.

Furthermore, Official Military Spokesman for Operation Inherent Resolve (OIR) announced on Twitter that 14 rockets stroke the region leaving one civilian dead and 9 injured.

Kurdish Peshmerga sources said on Monday that at least three mortar shells landed near Erbil International Airport in the semi-autonomous Kurdistan Region of Iraq, Reuters reported.
