Egypt is celebrating the 41st anniversary of Sinai Liberation Day, which marks the 1982 withdrawal of Israeli forces from the Sinai Peninsula.
The Israeli withdrawal came following the inking of the Camp David peace treaty between Egypt and Israel in September 1978.

On this special day, Egyptians celebrate the history, development and sacrifices of the Egyptian Armed Forces sector.
To mark the Sinai Peninsula Liberation Day, military museums and sites will be opened for visitors for free.
In a statement, the Egyptian Ministry of Defense said on Saturday that El Alamein World War II Military Museum, Port Said Military Museum, and National War Museum in Saladin Castle will be open, besides the display of the October War Panorama for free on the occasion of Sinai Liberation Day.
As part of official celebrations, Egypt’s President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi will be giving a speech during a ceremony commemorating the 41st anniversary of Liberty Day of Sinai, the reason behind the banks, and private institutions alongside public entities holiday today in the country.
