Egypt Closes Rafah Border with Gaza until Further Notice: Reports

Egypt has closed its Rafah border crossing with the Gaza Strip until further notice, according to media reports.

A week ago, Egypt resumed the opening of the Gaza-Egypt Rafah border crossing in both directions to help Palestinians stranded at the crossing to enter the North African country on humanitarian grounds.

The crossing has been opened according to directives of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi since May 16, 2021.

This comes within the framework of the Egyptian efforts to alleviate the suffering of the Palestinian citizen in the strip, restore the normal life of people in Gaza and start the reconstruction process.
