Egypt's President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi called on the international community and the European Union (EU) to apply significant pressure to reach an agreement ending the continuing conflict in the Gaza Strip and the violence in the West Bank.
In a meeting with EU foreign policy chief Josep Borrell, President El-Sisi emphasized the importance of ending the conflict in Gaza to alleviate regional tensions and restore stability.
The President warned about the ongoing escalation and commended Borrell for his fair positions in the past.
They discussed efforts to achieve a ceasefire in the Gaza war and the release of captives and detainees.
El-Sisi and Borrell also talked about ending the humanitarian tragedy in Gaza and working towards a two-state solution for peace, coexistence, stability, and development in the region.
In turn, Borrell reaffirmed the EU's commitment to maintaining consultations with Egypt and supporting its efforts to achieve regional stability during this critical phase.
