Egypt’s Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty said Egypt’s stance is unequivocal: an immediate ceasefire in Gaza is essential, and the two-state solution remains the only viable framework for resolving the conflict.
Speaking to Alqahera News, Abdelatty revealed that Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly will lead Egypt’s delegation during U.S. President Donald Trump’s upcoming talks with Arab and Islamic leaders.
“The Egyptian message will be clear and direct: there must be an immediate halt to the ongoing aggression and a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip,” Abdelatty said. He stressed that “it is impossible to speak of any political solutions or future steps while this brutal and illegal war against an unarmed people continues.”
On the international momentum surrounding the two-state solution, the minister pointed to a growing wave of diplomatic recognition of the State of Palestine. “These successive recognitions are a positive development that reassure the Palestinian people they are not alone, and that the international community is beginning to take tangible measures in response to Israel’s ongoing violations,” he noted.
Abdelatty emphasized that no comprehensive settlement in the region can be achieved without implementing the two-state solution and establishing an independent Palestinian state.
“This international momentum sends a clear message to Israel, which continues to reject the two-state solution: the time has come to impose this path and to end the war on Gaza,” he added.
