On the sidelines of the Sir Bani Yas Forum, Dr. Badr Abdel Atty, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Immigration and Expatriates Affairs, met with Tom Fletcher, Under-Secretary-General for Humanitarian Affairs and Emergency Relief Coordinator.
At the outset of the meeting, Abdel Atty stressed that establishing a ceasefire represents an utmost priority, considering it the necessary entry point for the full implementation of President Trump’s peace plan and the orderly transition to its second phase.
This, he noted, would ensure the unimpeded flow of humanitarian aid and the start of early recovery and reconstruction efforts.
Moreover, FM emphasized the vital role of the United Nations and its agencies, primarily the Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA), in protecting civilians, monitoring violations, and guaranteeing humanitarian access.
Furthermore, he reiterated Egypt's categorical rejection of any attempts at displacement, in addition to the importance of continuing close coordination with the international organization to support stability and alleviate the suffering of the Palestinian people.
