The General Authority for Supply Commodities, Egypt's government grain buyer, said Tuesday that it had purchased 120,000 metric tons of Ukrainian wheat in an international exercise.

Last March, the General Authority for Supply Commodities and dealers said that the Authority had purchased 110,000 tons of wheat in an international exercise. They said that the quantity was 50,000 tons of Bulgarian wheat and 60,000 tons of Romanian wheat.

Egyptian Minister of Supply Ali Al-Moselhi said that Egypt aims to purchase 3.5 million tons of local wheat during the 2024 wheat supply season.

The Egyptian Council of Ministers had agreed to set the price of supplying local wheat for the 2024-2025 season, so that the supply price would be 2,000 pounds for 23 and a half karat wheat.
