The Egyptian Meteorological Authority (EMA) predicts that the country will experience a new wave of unstable weather as of Wednesday.

Meteorologists also predicted that the wave is accompanied by rain of varying intensity and thunderous sometimes.

The cold snap will continue for the next 48 hours, with weather expected to improve on Friday.

Moderately warm to warm weather will prevail across the country during the daylight hours.

Dusty winds occasionally occur in most parts of the country.

The Northwest Coast, the Western Sahara, Upper Egypt, and the New Valley governorate will experience gusts of wind reaching speeds of 60 to 70 km/h, limiting horizontal visibility to less than 500 meters.

Moderate to heavy rainfall will prevail intermittently in Marsa Matruh, Alexandria, Beheira, Kafr El Shaikh, Dakahlia, Damietta, Port Said, and north Sinai.

Torrential rain accompanied by thunder is expected in Cairo, Gharbia, Menoufia, Sharqia, Canal Cities, Faiyum, Beni Suef, Minya, Assiut, the New Valley governorate, the Red Sea governorate, and the south Sinai.

The Mediterranean Sea will experience moderate to turbulent waves ranging between 1.5 and 2.5 in height, with northwest surface winds.

Waves in the Red Sea will be moderate, ranging between 1.5 and 2 meters in height with southeast surface winds.

Cold weather is also expected to prevail in Egypt at night and in the early morning.

The EMA has issued warnings regarding the dangers of thunderstorms, specifically highlighting the risk of sudden, strong downdrafts.

There is also a risk of lightning strikes, hail, and water accumulation in some parts of the country.

Residents are urged citizens to take all necessary precautions and avoid standing under trees, billboards, and unstable or old structures.

Motorists are also advised to take caution on the roads due to low visibility and potential slippery road conditions.

The predicted temperatures for the following cities are 23°C in Cairo, 20°C in Alexandria, 19°C in Marsa Matruh, 31°C in Sohag, 34°C in Qena, and 34°C in Aswan.
