Engineer Ibrahim El-Araby, Head of FEDCOC & the Africa Chamber of Commerce and Industry stressed that there are great potential to develop Egyptian-Belarus relations with the aim of benefiting from investment opportunities, especially efforts to support local industries in the fields of transportation, medicine, and agricultural equipment.

El-Araby said, during the Belarusian African Economic Forum held in Minsk,  that the cooperation between the two sides will help in re-exporting products to African markets after the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA), which grants customs exemptions and facilities for intra-African exports.

He added that the new political relations between the two countries paved the way for doubling bilateral trade and opened the way to support joint local industry, crossing the joint products to the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) and African markets.

On his part, Alaa Ezz, Secretary-General of the Federation indicated that there are promising opportunities for the production of the Belarusian coronavirus vaccine and electric buses in Egypt.

Ezz added that the Belarusian companies can take advantage of the promising investment opportunities available in the Suez Canal Economic Zone.
