Egypt's Foreign Minister (FM) Badr Abdelatty held a phone call today, Wednesday, with Tete António, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Angola, to discuss ways to strengthen bilateral relations and exchange views on regional issues of mutual concern.

Tamim Khallaf, Official Spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, stated that Abdelatty praised the growing momentum in Egypt-Angola relations, valuing the two sides' keenness to continue boosting ties across political, economic, trade, and investment fields.

Moreover, FM emphasized Egypt's interest in enhancing trade exchange with Angola and encouraging the Egyptian government for businessmen and companies to strongly enter the Angolan market, building upon the existing partnerships between the two sides.

Furthermore, Abdelatty also affirmed interest in exploring cooperation opportunities in infrastructure, energy, and telecommunications projects, highlighting the experience of leading Egyptian companies in implementing major projects in a number of African countries.

FM also praised the active role of the Angolan Chairmanship of the African Union in leading joint continental action during a delicate phase where challenges to peace, security, and development are escalating.

He confirmed Egypt's aspiration to continue close coordination with Angola within the framework of the African Union and regional and international organizations to advance African priorities, achieve common interests, and continue exchanging support for various candidacies from both sides.

In a related context, the call addressed the ongoing arrangements for the Africa-Europe Summit scheduled to be held in Luanda on November 24 and 25.

Both sides stressed the importance of ensuring the summit's success and reaching outcomes that serve the interests of the African continent and enhance its ability to deal with current complex challenges, particularly the files of peace and security, combating terrorism, and promoting sustainable and inclusive development.
