Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty held a phone call on Sunday with Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan to discuss efforts aimed at reducing regional tensions and strengthening bilateral cooperation between Egypt and Turkey.
During the call, the two ministers reviewed the positive trajectory of relations between Cairo and Ankara, reaffirming their mutual commitment to expanding cooperation across various sectors in a way that serves the shared interests of both countries and supports the aspirations of their peoples for greater development and prosperity.
The discussions also focused on ongoing regional developments, particularly the diplomatic track between the United States and Iran. Both sides stressed the importance of supporting negotiations and maintaining diplomatic dialogue as the primary path toward de-escalation and ending the current conflict.
The ministers emphasized that political and diplomatic solutions remain the only sustainable approach to resolving regional disputes and preserving stability across the Middle East.
Both Egypt and Turkey expressed hope that all parties involved would adopt responsible and balanced positions aimed at preventing further escalation and protecting the interests and resources of the region’s peoples.
