Egypt and Portugal held their first joint virtual seminar on trade and investment opportunities, bringing together officials and business representatives from both countries.

The event was organized by the Egyptian Embassy in Lisbon, the Portuguese Embassy in Cairo, Egypt’s Ministry of Investment and Foreign Trade, and the Portuguese Trade and Investment Agency. It aimed to strengthen economic ties and expand cooperation between the two sides.

Egypt’s Ambassador to Portugal Tarek Tayel said the strong participation reflected interest in translating political relations into practical economic partnerships. The seminar drew wide attendance from Portuguese companies exploring opportunities in the Egyptian market.

During the session, representatives of the Egyptian Commercial Service, the Suez Canal Economic Zone, and the General Authority for Investment and Free Zones presented overviews of Egypt’s investment climate and available opportunities across various sectors.

Participants agreed to organize a series of specialized virtual seminars in the coming period to promote sector-specific opportunities and pave the way for reciprocal business visits to further boost bilateral trade and investment.
