Egypt and Greece Stress Importance of Trilateral Cooperation with Cyprus

Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty held a telephone call with Greek Foreign Minister Giorgos Gerapetritis to discuss bilateral cooperation and the latest regional developments.

The two ministers praised the growing momentum in Egyptian-Greek relations across several fields under the strategic partnership between the two countries.

They expressed their commitment to building on the results of recent high-level visits and communications to expand political and economic cooperation and serve the shared interests of the Egyptian and Greek peoples.

Abdelatty also thanked Greece for its support for Egypt within the various institutions of the European Union.

The Egyptian foreign minister stressed the importance of the trilateral cooperation mechanism between Egypt, Greece and Cyprus at all levels.

He called for further development of economic, commercial and investment relations and for wider cooperation among the three countries in areas of shared interest.

The call also addressed the latest regional developments and the rapidly changing situation in the region.

Abdelatty reviewed Egypt’s intensive diplomatic contacts and efforts to reduce tensions and prevent further escalation.

He reaffirmed Egypt’s support for resolving the current crisis through dialogue and diplomatic means in order to strengthen regional security and stability.

The two ministers agreed to continue coordination and consultation under the strategic partnership between Egypt and Greece and to support efforts aimed at reducing regional tensions.
