Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty discussed bilateral relations and regional developments during a phone call with Greek Foreign Minister Giorgos Gerapetritis.

The two ministers stressed the strength of relations between Egypt and Greece, especially after upgrading ties to a strategic partnership level.

Abdelatty said Egypt is looking to expand economic, trade, and investment cooperation with Greece and praised Athens’ support for Cairo within European Union institutions.

The call also covered regional developments, including efforts to reduce tensions and support diplomatic solutions in the region. Abdelatty reviewed Egypt’s contacts aimed at de-escalation and stressed the importance of supporting negotiations between the United States and Iran.

The ministers also exchanged views on the Palestinian issue, Libya, and Sudan.

Abdelatty stressed the importance of advancing the political process in Libya, holding presidential and parliamentary elections, and preserving Libya’s unity and sovereignty.

Regarding Sudan, he stressed the need to preserve the country’s unity, territorial integrity, and national institutions, while rejecting external interference that could deepen the conflict.

The two ministers agreed to continue coordination and consultations to support regional stability and reduce tensions.
