Egypt and Algeria inked a series of cooperation documents on Tuesday as Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly and Algeria’s First Minister Nadir Larbaoui co-chaired the ninth session of the Egyptian-Algerian High Joint Committee at the Cabinet headquarters in the New Administrative Capital.

Following their talks, which focused on strengthening bilateral relations and expanding collaboration in areas of mutual interest, the two sides witnessed the signing of 19 memoranda of understanding between Egypt’s National Accreditation Council and the Algerian Accreditation Body. The agreements were signed by Egypt’s Deputy Prime Minister for Industrial Development and Minister of Industry and Transport, Kamel El-Wazir, and Algeria’s Minister of Industry, Yahia Bechir.

Additional agreements covered housing, urban development, and city planning, signed by Egypt’s Minister of Planning, Economic Development and International Cooperation, Rania Al-Mashat, and Algeria’s Minister of Housing, Urban Development and City Planning, Mohamed Tarek Belaribi.

The two countries also concluded an MoU between Egypt’s Agricultural Research Center and Algeria’s National School of Agricultural Engineering, as well as a cooperation agreement between Al-Azhar University and Ahmed Draia University of Adrar.

Another memorandum was signed between Egypt’s Ministry of Parliamentary and Legal Affairs and Algeria’s Ministry of Relations with Parliament.

Officials from both sides said the agreements reflect a shared commitment to deepening strategic ties and expanding cooperation across priority sectors.
