Badr Abdelatty, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Emigration and Egyptian Expatriates, received a phone call, on Wednesday, from Ahmed Attaf, Minister of Foreign Affairs and National Community Abroad of the People's Democratic Republic of Algeria, to discuss the rapid regional developments and the dangerous military escalation currently witnessed in the area.
During the call, the Algerian Minister conveyed the greetings and appreciation of President Abdelmadjid Tebboune to President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, while Abdelatty reciprocated by conveying the Egyptian President's greetings to his Algerian counterpart, emphasizing the depth and strength of the fraternal ties binding the two brotherly nations.
Regarding regional issues, Abdelatty reviewed Egypt’s intensive efforts and communications, including the outcomes of his recent Gulf tour, aimed at containing the situation and preventing the region from sliding into total chaos.
Moreover, he stressed the necessity of prioritizing diplomatic paths and an immediate halt to all forms of military escalation that threaten regional peace and security.
Both ministers also emphasized the need to end the war and discussed future regional arrangements to ensure security and stability, including the establishment of executive mechanisms to formulate a practical concept of Arab Collective Security, viewing it as an urgent strategic necessity to confront unprecedented challenges targeting the sovereignty of Arab states.
Furthermore, the two ministers reaffirmed the importance of strengthening bilateral relations between the two countries across all fields.
They also agreed to maintain continuous coordination and periodic consultation regarding the consecutive challenges facing the region, while continuing joint efforts to push bilateral cooperation toward broader horizons that serve the mutual interests of both brotherly peoples.
