Egypt’s Minister of Labor Mohamed Hassan Raddad and Albania’s Deputy Minister of Economy, Culture and Innovation Olta Manjani discussed expanding cooperation in employment, labour mobility and human resources development during talks on the sidelines of the 114th session of the International Labour Conference in Geneva.
The meeting focused on opportunities to supply skilled Egyptian workers to the Albanian labour market, with both sides highlighting Egypt’s pool of qualified professionals and expertise across a broad range of economic and productive sectors.
Officials also reviewed progress on a proposed memorandum of understanding aimed at establishing an institutional framework for cooperation in labour affairs and the regulation of workforce mobility between the two countries.
The agreement is expected to facilitate labour market cooperation, serve mutual economic interests and create new opportunities for bilateral engagement.
Discussions further covered cooperation in vocational training, skills development and the accreditation of occupational health and safety certificates through coordination between relevant institutions in Egypt and Albania.
Both sides emphasized the importance of drawing on specialized expertise and advanced training centres to enhance workforce capabilities and respond to the evolving needs of modern labour markets.
Raddad reaffirmed Egypt’s commitment to strengthening partnerships with friendly countries in the areas of employment, training and skills development, in line with the country's broader efforts to create job opportunities and support economic growth.
He also stressed the importance of opening new overseas labour markets for qualified Egyptian workers, describing the move as a key component of efforts to provide decent employment opportunities for Egyptian youth and support national development objectives.
The two sides agreed to maintain close coordination in the coming period to advance joint initiatives and deepen cooperation, reflecting what officials described as the growing relationship between Egypt and Albania.
