Egypt Advances more than 50 Spots in Global AI Ranking

Amr Talaat, Minister of Communications and Information Technology said that Egypt’s ranking has advanced more than 50 places in the global artificial intelligence rankings.

This came Sunday during the conclusion of the activities of the Data Science and Artificial Intelligence (DSC MENA 24) Conference in its first edition in Egypt and the Middle East and North Africa region.

Talaat confirmed that Egypt has a huge wealth of data resulting from all the digitization systems that have been operating in the country for decades. The challenge arises in how to manage this data and what it includes of several very important concepts and axes related to protecting data privacy and organizing data exchange, how to use this data, produce the largest number of it, and use it in forecasting and making appropriate decisions. 

He pointed out the cooperation of the ministry with a number of relevant authorities in implementing the first phase of the national strategy for artificial intelligence (AI), noting that the Applied Innovation Center was established to find technological solutions using artificial intelligence in a number of sectors such as health care and agriculture.
