The Minister of Local Development Hisham Amna announced that the governorates have begun implementing summer dates for opening and closing shops, restaurants, cafes, malls, workshops, and craft businesses as of Friday, April 26.

The minister stressed that the decision on summer timings includes opening stores and commercial malls daily from 7 a.m. and closing at 11 p.m. in the summer, provided that the timing will be increased on Thursdays and Fridays and on official holidays and holidays to close at 12 midnight in the summer.

The opening hours for restaurants and cafes, including those in commercial “malls,” will be from 5 a.m. daily and close at 1 a.m. in the summer, with the “Take Away” and the home delivery service for restaurants and cafes continuing 24 hours a day.

He added that the daily opening times for all workshops and craft works within the residential blocks are from 8 am and close at 7 pm, except for the workshops located on the roads and gas stations.

He pointed out that grocery stores, supermarkets, bakeries, and ovens are excluded from these timings, taking into account the nighttime activities of some stores, such as fruit and vegetable stores, poultry stores, wholesale markets, and pharmacies.
