Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics (CAPMAS) issued on/27 /11/2023 a press release of primary data of manufacturing and extractive industries of production index of September 2023.
CAPMAS has updated the index methodology using the base year 2012/2013 and at the level of main indices of industrial activity according to the Industrial Activity Manual (ISIC Rev.4) and by using the monthly index (for producer prices based on 2012/2013)That's since January 2020.
The manufacturing and extractive industries index (excluding crude oil and petroleum products) reached 100.86 during September 2023 (primary) compared to 104.91 during August 2023 (final)decrease by 3.86%.
Economic Activities that witness an increase are as follows:
• The Manufacture of paper and paper productsreached 71.94during September2023, compared to August2023, reaching 70.31, an increase by 2.32%due to market needs.
• The Manufacture of basic pharmaceutical products and pharmaceutical preparations reached118.28 during September2023, compared toAugust2023, reaching114.76, an increase by3.07%due to market needs.
A decrease in the level of the following economic activities:
• Manufacture ofelectrical equipment;reached112.51during September2023, compared toAugust2023, reaching128.09adecrease by 12.16%,due tothe lack of raw materials necessary for production.
• Manufacture of transport equipment; reached87.68 during September2023 , compared to August2023,reaching117.90adecrease by25.63%, due to market needs.
