Egypt National Theater Fest to Honor Samir Ghanem, Dalal Abdel Aziz

The Egyptian National Theater Festival's supreme committee announced that it will honour iconic stars: Samir Ghanem, and Dalal Abdel Aziz during the forthcoming edition.

The 13th edition of the festival will take place between September 27 to October 9.

Iconic actor Youssef Ismail, the director of the festival, said that the late two stars did wide contributions to the scene of arts in Egypt.

The veteran actor and comedian passed away at the age of 84 years old in May as he suffered from medical complications kidney-failure related, in addition to contracting COVID-19. He also spent almost two weeks in intensive care.

In the same context, Abdel Aziz passed away at the age of 61 after a battle with Coronavirus side effects for more than three months.

 

The news was announced and confirmed by TV presenter Ramy Radwan who is the late actress’s son-in-law. The news was also confirmed by actor Hassan Radad.

Ghanem and Abdel Aziz participated together in more than 19 works between cinema, theatre, and television. Among the movies are “The End of a Married Man“, “Ya Rab Wald” in 1984, starring Farid Shawqi, Karima Mokhtar, Esaad Younes, and Ahmed Ratib, in addition to “Hadi Badi”.

They also made “Arbab Sawabiq” in 1988, and “Earis fi Alyanasib”/ “Groom in the Lottery” in 1889.

In 1990, they joined “The Three Idiots” movie, “El Matab”, “Elnisab W Elkalb”, and “Men in Danger” in 1993.

Moreover, they had their fair share of plays together, including “Akhoya Hayes We Ana Layes“, “Fares We Bany Khayban“, as well as “Ahlaan Ya Doctor/ Welcome Dr.”

In 1982, Abdel Aziz made guest appearances in “Fawazeer Fatoota” which was a series of riddles, about historic figures, introduced every day.

They also participated in multiple T.V series such as; “Mr. Amin’s Family“, “Abdul Hamid Academy“, “Lahfa” and “Badal Alhadouta Talata” along with their daughter Donia. They made a guest appearance in “Nelly and Sherihan“, starring their two daughters Donia and Emy.
