The Egyptian Stock Exchange (EGX) indices ended trading Sundaywith a collective decline, with market losses of EGP 18 billion.
The main stock index "EGX30" lost all of its morning gains to close down about 199% at 23,822 points.
The EGX70 index for small and medium-sized stocks declined by about 1.42%, recording a level of 5,312 points.
The broader stock index "EGX100" also fell by 1.61%, closing at 7,639 points.
The total value of trading in shares reached EGP 3.23 billion, and the number of shares traded reached 205 shares, of which 33 shares rose, 127 shares declined, while 45 remained unchanged.
The market cap of listed shares lost about EGP 18 billion, closing at EGP 1.648 trillion, compared to EGP 1.666 trillion the previous closing level.
Transactions of Arab and foreign investors tended towards purchasing, with a net value of EGP 26.97 million and EGP 4.92 million, respectively.
This is in exchange for a net sale of Egyptian investors worth EGP 31.9 million.
Shares
CIB was able to seize the top spot in the ranking of brokerage companies in Egyptian Stock Exchange transactions during today’s session, with its trading values exceeding egp 1 billion, achieving a market share of 17.6%, with a trading value of EGP 1.02 billion, and carrying out about 7,230 transactions for the benefit of 71.13 million shares.
Thunder trading came in second place with a market share of 10.7%, with a trading value of EGP 617.43 million, and carried out about 67,970 transactions on 224.9 million securities.
While Al-Ahly Pharos ranked third, with a market share of 9.5%, a trading value of EGP 547.8 million, and 4,900 transactions carried out on 134.9 million securities.
“Mubasher” dominated fourth place, seizing a market share of 7.8%, with trades amounting to EGP 451.9 million, and 16,260 transactions were carried out on 129.6 million securities.
“Hermes” was able to reach fifth place during today’s stock market transactions, recording trades worth EGP 352.96 million, with a market share of 6.1%, and it carried out 11,550 transactions on 123.23 million securities.
