EGX Posts Collective Gains ... Market Cap up EGP 26 Billion

The Egyptian Stock Exchange (EGX) indices ended Wednesday’s trading with collective gains, supported by the purchases of Egyptian investors.

The main stock index "EGX30" jumped by 3.17% to close at 16,411 points.

The EGX70 index of small and medium stocks increased by 1.25% at 2839 points, and the broader EGX100 rose by 1.95%, at 4279 points.

The total value of transactions on shares amounted to EGP 2.02 billion, and the number of shares traded reached 196 shares, of which 82 rose, 38 declined, and 76 remained unchanged.

The market cap of listed shares gained about EGP 26 billion to close at the level of EGP 1.53 trillion, compared to EGP 1.27 trillion, the previous closing.

The selling trend dominated the dealings of Arab and foreign investors, with a net value of EGP 9.13 million and EGP 189.58 million, respectively, compared to a net purchase of Egyptian investors with a value of EGP 198.72 million.

The highest rising stocks in today's trading

The highest rising stocks today were Beltone Financial Holding by 12.64% closing EGP 3,030, then the Egyptian Kuwaiti Holding by 10%, closing at in EGP 44, then Oriental Weavers Carpets by 8.40%, closing at EGP 13,290.

In fourth place came Telecom Egypt by 7.41% closing at EGP 24,500, then CI Capital Holding for Financial Investments by 7.41% closing at EGP 4,930.
