EGX Jumps 1.84% .. Records Market Gains of EGP 34 Billion

Stock market indices continued to rise at the end of Wednesday's session, keep up with their morning gains, with the main index settling at 28,340.4 points, with the market cap recording market gains of EGP 34 billion during the session.

The main index “EGX30” jumped by 1.84% to close at the level of 28,340.4 points, and the “CIB” stock, which has the largest relative weight in the main index, recorded an increase of 0.52% to settle at the level of EGP 78.

During transactions, the market cap achieved market gains worth EGP 34 billion, closing at the level of EGP 1.931 trillion.

Moreover, the new “EGX33” Sharia index rose by 2.12% to settle at 2738.2 points.

The index of medium and small companies “EGX70 EWI” rose by 1.51% to close at 6,426.8 points, while the broader index “EGX100 EWI” rose by 1.64%, to close at 9,270.2 points.

During the transactions, up to 822.9 billion shares were traded, with a turnover of EGP 3.6 billion through 98.6 thousand transactions and 206 shares during the session, of which 119 shares rose, and the prices of 30 shares declined, while the prices of 57 shares remained unchanged.

In terms of investor transactions, Egyptians' transactions alone tended towards buying with a net value of EGP 163.7 million, while Arabs and foreigners' transactions tended towards selling with a net value of EGP 48.2 million and EGP 115.5 billion pounds, respectively.

The net transactions of institutions tended toward buying, with the exception of foreign institutions, which recorded net sales of  EGP 113.7 million, while the net transactions of individuals tended toward selling, led by Egyptians, to record net sales of EGP 67.6 million pounds.

The significant rise in stock market indices was supported by net purchases by local institutions, recording net purchases of EGP 231.3 million.
