Egypt's Minister of Education Tarek Shawki denied on Wednesday the recent reports about the schools' closure in mid-November, stressing that these are all "baseless rumors".
In exclusive press statements to the "Akhbar Al-Youm" newspaper, Shawki noted, "The current situation inside the schools across the republic is very stable and reassuring, and there is no need for anxiety and tension."
The minister pointed out that "the rumors related to the emergence of Coronavirus cases in schools are extremely exaggerated, although the situation on the ground is very stable and the numbers of cases are not worrisome at all."
He also urged parents not to be driven by fake news, which aim at creating confusion and disturbing the ministry's path to develop the educational process."
