Well-placed sources affiliated with Buckingham Palace announced that Charles III will be crowned King of Great Britain on May 6, 2023, as the celebrations will last for three days and will include a concert with the participation of international stars.
The Royal palace also announced that the ceremony will take place over the weekend, from Saturday 6 to Monday, May 8, 2023, according to Russia Today.
The royal coronation in particular, an event dating back more than a millennium and set to take place inside Westminster Abbey, where Charles chose the oldest monarch ever to be crowned, is a toned-down ceremony with a guest list of only around 2,000 people.
The number of guests is much smaller than the coronation of Queen Elizabeth in 1953 when more than 7,000 people packed Westminster.
The cost of the concert, according to media reports, may approach 150 million pounds sterling at a time when Britain is suffering from an economic crisis.
