President of the European Central Bank (ECB) Christine Lagarde revealed, on Thursday, that she had tested positive for Covid-19.

Lagarde, 66, affirmed that she is fully vaccinated and had received a booster shot.

"My symptoms are thankfully reasonably mild," the ECB president said. "I will work from home in Frankfurt until I am fully recovered. There is no impact on the ECB's operations."

The ECB is scheduled to hold its next policy meeting on Thursday, April 14, in Frankfurt.

In the same vein, U.S. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi also tested positive for Coronavirus, a spokesman for the California Democrat announced on Thursday.

“After testing negative this week, Speaker Pelosi received a positive test result for COVID-19 and is currently asymptomatic,” Pelosi’s deputy chief of staff Drew Hammill tweeted.

Hammill announced the positive test result came just before Pelosi was scheduled to have her weekly news conference with reporters, which was canceled.

He also said a planned congressional delegation to Asia “will be postponed to a later date.”
