Egyptian Foreign Ministry Confirms Two Egyptian Victims of One Family Found Dead in Turkey's Earthquake

Two Egyptians were reportedly killed by the severe earthquake that struck at early on Monday, according to the Egyptian Foreign Ministry on Tuesday.

The two casualties were from the same family, the Foreign Ministry noted in a statement, and their apartment building in the Hatay state's Iskenderun district collapsed as a result, according to contacts at its embassy in Ankara.

It stated that in order to offer the required assistance, the Egyptian embassy was able to get in touch with a family member.

According to the statement, the embassy in Ankara is in contact with a few Egyptian nationals who have suffered minor wounds and will keep an eye on them.

The Turkish authorities transported them to shelters because their homes were being demolished, the embassy has discovered through direct touch with some particular cases.

According to the statement, there has been no information released about Egyptian victims regarding their position in Syria.

An Egyptian who was mildly hurt due to a crack in his home was called by the Egyptian embassy in Damascus.

The foreign ministry continues to monitor the situation around-the-clock and releases media comments that are successively updated with developments in collaboration with the Egyptian embassies in Ankara and Damascus.
