A spokesman for the Taliban, an Islamist movement governing in Afghanistan, announced that the death toll from the earthquake that struck eastern Afghanistan has risen to 1,500, and more than 2,000 injured.
The spokesman of the Afghani movement stressed that "access to the earthquake-hit areas is very difficult and requires special tools," noting that "all the aid announced by countries are just promising that have not been implemented so far."
On the other hand, Afghani media reported, quoting the authorities, that at least 400 people were killed in recent floods across the country.
Afghanistan's Toloa News TV reported that heavy rains caused floods in a number of Afghan provinces, including Kabul, Panjshir, Khost, Paktia, and Nangarhar.
More than 400 people were killed in these destructive floods.
However, the Afghan Ministry of Emergencies said that the injured were taken to hospitals, and residents whose homes were damaged by the floods were evacuated, and they are living in tents.
