Dutch Foreign Minister Hanke Bruins Sloot stressed the necessity of resolving the crisis in Gaza and reaching an agreement that would lead to an immediate ceasefire, paving the way for lasting peace.
This came during a meeting between the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates in the Lebanese caretaker government, Abdullah Bouhabib, with his Dutch counterpart, Hanke Bruins Sloat, where they discussed latest developments in the region.
Hanke expressed her country's concern about the deteriorating situation on Lebanon's borders, and her regret at the loss of civilian lives due to its negative impact on Lebanon and the region, stressing the importance of working to avoid expanding the cycle of violence.
Furthermore, she expressed her country's appreciation to Lebanon for the great burden it bears in hosting the largest number of Syrian refugees, stressing its support for the Lebanese army, which is working to stabilize stability and its support for rebuilding the private sector in Lebanon, in cooperation with the European Union.
In this regard, Hanke pointed out that Netherlands has allocated 140 million euros for upcoming four years.
