Dua Lipa and Versace’s highly-anticipated collaboration "La Vacanza" debuted Tuesday at the Cannes Film Festival, held annually in Cannes, France.
The partnership, announced earlier this month, isn’t a big surprise. Throughout the years, the pop star was a bona fide Versace muse and become a permanent fixture on its front rows, a face of its campaigns, and even modeled collections on the runway. Lipa opened and closed the Spring/Summer 2022 show.
Drawing inspiration from Versace’s Fall/Winter 1992 and Spring/Summer 1995 Atelier collections, the co-designed offering comprised fluid silk shirts, wide-tailored pants, and buckled bralettes, paired with metallic miniskirts, sexy bikinis, and mesh looks, taking cues from the iconic ’90s supermodel era.
Landing in a summery color palette of pastel “Azur Blue” and “Lavender,” the collection was brought to life by the metallic shimmer, crystal mesh, and pastel leather, all underpinned by Lipa’s signature butterfly motif.
