Flight operations at Munich Airport were suspended on Saturday after pilots reported a suspected drone near the airport, prompting authorities to close the runways.
A police spokesperson said the sighting was reported shortly after 9 a.m. local time. In coordination with Germany’s air traffic control authorities, security officials decided to halt air traffic as a precaution.
Authorities have not said how long the disruption will last, while investigations continue into the reported drone activity near one of Germany’s busiest airports.
