It is known that there are a variety of parasitic worms, living in the human body that almost cause problems in humans. Among them are flatworms, thorny-headed worms, pinworms, and others.

Here is Dr. Baher El Saeed, the famous pharmacist on Facebook, talking about the pinworm infection, its symptoms, and ways to avoid it during his weekly interview with InBox TV program aired on Sada El Balad 2 channel.

The pinworm infection is a human parasitic disease caused by pinworm. It is one of the most common infections in the world as one billion people around the world are infected with it.

Saeed noted that the male pinworms range between three to five meters while the females range between eight to 13 meters. The pinworm lays thousands of eggs around the anus.

Pinworms could enter the human body through the polluted food or vegetables, planted in polluted soil or from dust resulted from poor hygiene.

"10% of the population in the developing countries has pinworm infection, according to the World Health Organization (WHO)," the pharmacist said.

Children, who are between the ages of 5 and 10, are the most infectious people.

One of the common symptoms of the pinworm infection is strong itching of the anal area or around the vagina for the females.

He pointed to a variety of home remedies such as onion, lemon, ginger, black seed oil, carrots, pomegranate, and Tumeric with cloves.

He also advised if somebody at the house was infected, all the house members should be treated.
