On Wednesday, the United Nations announced the results of a preliminary investigation conducted by its mission in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC). The statement indicated that at least 131 civilians were killed by the "M23" movement in this country in late November.

A preliminary UN investigation indicated that at least 131 civilians were killed by M23 rebels in eastern DRC on November 29 and 30, according to the international mission in the country.

The Kinshasa authorities mentioned on Monday that about 300 people, most of them civilians, were killed in rebel attacks in the village of Kishishi, east of North Kivu province.

The movement denied responsibility for the massacre.
