The BBC reported on Sunday that dozens were killed and injured in an explosion in a village in Myanmar.
The BBC stated that an explosion in a village in Myanmar killed at least 55 people and injured dozens more.
It added that 25 women and 30 men were killed in the explosion, which occurred in the village of Kwang Tat in Namkham Township, Shan State.
AFP reported that the explosion occurred in an area controlled by rebel groups in northern Myanmar and attributed it to the accidental detonation of improvised explosive devices.
A medic in Namkham Township, Shan State, where the explosion took place, said that 46 people were killed, including children, and more than 70 others were injured, while another medic reported a total of 59 deaths.
