Dozens of people have been killed in a landslide in the western region of the Central African Republic near the border with Cameroon, according to local officials and residents.
The disaster struck at the Bi-Mbari site in the Nana-Mambéré prefecture, an area located in the west of the country.
Local authorities confirmed that search operations are still underway to locate missing people trapped beneath the debris.
A municipal official in the town of Aba stated that all activities at the site have been suspended as rescue teams continue emergency operations following the deadly collapse.
