Doubts have been raised over the infection of the Egyptian football star Mohamed Salah and some of his colleagues in Liverpool FC with the emerging COVID-19 Coronavirus, which is widely spreading across the  European countries.

This suspicion came after AFC Bournemouth announced that five of their employees, including goalkeeper Artur Boruc, are currently under self-isolation, having displayed symptoms consistent with the virus.

Regretfully, the team faced Liverpool FC last Saturday, March 7 and there were handshakes between Salah and the goalkeeper before and after the encounter.

It is worth mentioning that, Premier League in England has been suspended until at least April 3 due to coronavirus outbreak.

All football events in the European country, including the Premier League games, EFL fixtures and matches in the FA Women’s Super League and Women’s Championship have been postponed.

The World Health Organization (WHO) declared coronavirus a global pandemic as the new virus has rapidly spread to more than 121,000 people from Asia to the Middle East, Europe, and the United States.

More cases of the virus, which causes respiratory disease Covid-19, continue to emerge, with outbreaks in South Korea, Italy, and Iran.

China– the epicenter of coronavirus outbreak-is trying with all its might to confront the effects resulting from the outbreak of the new coronavirus via a series of strong and effective measures that seek to reduce the number of deaths and injuries caused by this deadly virus.

Transmission of viruses between humans happens when someone comes into contact with an infected person’s secretions, such as droplets in a cough. They can also be transmitted by coming into contact with something an infected person has touched and then touching your mouth, nose or eyes.
