Tunisian actress, Dorra Zarrouk addressed on Tuesday the rumors of being a second wife, to her new husband, businessman Hany Saad, which is illegal in Tunisia.
Tunisian law criminalizes second marriage and prohibits polygamy, which may lead to Zarrouk being sentenced to one year in prison, and being fined.
During a telephone interview with a Tunisian radio station, Zarrouk revealed that Saad is porced and their marriage comes as a decision to begin a new life for both of them.
She called on her fans, journalists, and media personals to respect her personal life and not to interfere in it.
"Being an artist and a public figure, means asking about her work, and not to the right to interfere in her life," stressed Zarrouk.
On 2nd November, the Tunisian actress and Egyptian architecture tied the knot at Sameh Sawiris’ La Maison Bleue El Gouna, in Red Sea Governorate. The newlyweds have known each other for almost a year.
Many social media users circulated a photo of Zarrouk 's husband and his first wife, Menna Hashem, and their children.
The actress faced backlash after people took notice that Saad's wife and children were still young. They accused her of taking a man from his family.
Hashem commented on the news affirming that she is still married to Saad and that they did not separate.
