Egyptian actress-singer, Donia Samir Ghanem will not participate in Ramadan 2020 drama marathon, as she desires to have a break from TV drama work this year.
However, Ghanem is planning to make a comeback to the big screen after 4 years of absence.
Her last cinematic role in Ahmed Helmy’s film “laf w dawaran” was released in 2016.
Producer and singer Hisham Gamal revealed in an interview with “The Insider” program broadcast on Dubai TV some details about the film.
“We are now busy preparing for it and hashing out all of its details,” Gamal said.
He added: “the film also stars Hesham Maged, Bayoumi Fouad, and Dalal Abdel Aziz alongside Donia Samir Ghanem. It is written by Sherif Naguib and directed by Khaled Al-Halfawi."
The film is scheduled to begin shooting in January, which will feature a number of songs.

The actress was born on January 1, 1985, to an artistic family; she is the daughter of renowned actor Samir Ghanem and actress Dalal Abdulaziz; her sister, Amal— known as Amy— is also an actress.
Ghanem’s talents appeared when she was a child, participating in school plays and shows.
The actress made her acting debut in 2001’s TV series "Leladala Wogouh Katheera" (Justice has many faces).
In 2005, Ghanem made her first film appearance in renowned comedy actor Mohamed Henedi’s film “Ya Ana Ya Khalty”.
She released her first song "Farh el Sen" in 2010.
In 2015, she was a judge on season 4 of “The X Factor” Arabia version along with Lebanese singers Elissa and Ragheb Alama.
Ghanem is best known for her work on the television shows “Leladala Wogouh Katheera”, “El Kabeer Awy”, “Lahfa”, “Nelly and Sherihan”, “In Lala Land”, and “badal el hadouta 3”.
She is also known for her roles in films “El-Farah”, “You Fly”, “Ezbet Adam”, “La Taragoa Wala Esteslam”, “X-Large”, “365 Days of Happiness”, and “laf w dawaran”.
