The price of the dollar rose against the Egyptian pound in most of the banks operating in the market by 7 piastres at the end of trading on Wednesday, compared to yesterday's prices.
The U.S. currency recorded EGP 49.60 pounds to buy, and 49.70 pounds to sell, an increase of 7 piasters for buying and selling at Egypt's biggest state-run banks, including the National Bank of Egypt (NBE), Banque Misr, and Banque du Caire.
The value of the Egyptian pound has declined in the past few weeks due to the International Monetary Fund's review of its program with Egypt, which called for a free exchange rate regime.
