Coronavirus may have changed the world, but it didn't change how some people pamper their loved ones and pets with affection and expensive presents.
Hairdresser Alisa Thorne, from Wales, has often lavishly expressed her love for her beloved pooch. Thorne has spent more than £12,000 on Fabio, a Chinese Crested Powder Puff, since she got him in July, shortly after her 10-year-old dog Hugo passed away.
The 52-year-old also set up an Instagram account for Fabio, which has more than 5,000 followers.
"He has just joined a dog modelling agency and has already been for a few shoots. He’s just the sweetest dog," added Thorne.
This Christmas, she spent a week turning her garden summer house into a Winter Wonderland for her six-month-old puppy Fabio – which includes a dog-sized sled. She also spent £600 on a custom-made Swarovski crystal bowtie and £130 on a Cavalli onesie to add to his 800-piece strong wardrobe.
"I’ve had his bowl designed and looking for some more presents. It’s been hard to find things in the lockdown but because I want everything to be custom-made for him," Thorne stated.
She continued: "Fabio is my little baby and I love him to pieces. He is so adorable and I just want to spoil him with nice things,".
‘I can’t wait to celebrate our first Christmas together. I had so much fun decorating the grotto and I have lots of festive costumes to dress him up. I don’t have much family so having a nice Christmas together means a lot to me. I can’t wait to help him open his presents." Thorne added.
