Turmeric or Curcuma longa is a flowering plant of the ginger family, Its roots are commonly used in cooking curries and rice.
But that is not its only use, studies has shown that turmeric has many benefits for your skin including.
• Anti-Inflammatory properties
Curcuma has anti-inflammatory and anti-bacterial properties that help soothe skin conditions like eczema and rosacea. It also reduces the redness from blemishes.

• Fighting Acne
It is a natural antiseptic and prevents the bacteria from spreading, especially when mixed with apple cider vinegar.
• Reducing dark circles
It stimulates the circulation reducing the puffiness and under-eye darkness.
• Protection against sun damage and aging
Research presented at the American Academy of Dermatology (AAD) 68th annual meeting shows that Turmeric has the ability to improve the fine lines and brown spots caused by sun damage, besides preventing the loss of skin elasticity.
• Reducing the appearance of stretch marks
It penetrates and improves the function of the skin membrane cells due to its antioxidative power which helps in the preventing and treating of stretch marks. Mix one tablespoon of extra virgin olive oil with one tablespoon of turmeric and a wedge of a lemon to make your own stretch mark healing paste.

• Soothing dry skin
Turmeric hydrates and revitalizes the skin deeply. It also speeds up the process of removing dead skin cells to expose healthy and soft skin.

Hydrating Turmeric Face Mask : In a bowl, Mix 1tbsp of lemon juice and 3tbsp of milk with ¼ tbsp of turmeric and leave it on for 10-20 minutes before rinsing off.
. face Scrub
Mix ½ tsp pf turmeric with 3tsp of almond milk and 3tsp of baking soda. Massage your damp face with the mixture before rinsing off.
Make sure to use these recipes 2-3 times a week and avoid leaving on overnight seeing as turmeric has the tendency to stain. And if there’s some staining try washing your face with milk.
